Four big days Czechia snow

The Kildwildlifecamp took this year for the first time place at a new spot, the lipno lake in Czechia.

And so Guntram, photographer Dominik, Teammate Flo and I set off to Cerna v Posumavi (CZ).

Already Thursday evening we made our tracks through the still fresh powder on the ice. Friday was the big day. A clear blue Sky, acceptable winds, already much kiter on the KWC 711 and good vibes.

In the evening everybody showed up for a Budwiser at the hotel on the spot to meet each other.

Saturday was nearly as great as Friday, just the wind was lighter, but it was enough for cruising.

In the afternoon Flo and I started a back country discovery- around the big lake are tons of places, which are suitable for snowkiting. Unfortunately I missed the visit in Cernas disco through oversleeping. On Sunday we started our long way home in time.

Résumé: sunburn, sore muscles, but really good days. KWC and Lipno any time again!

Two weeks fun in the Alps

Happy new Year!

The evening of the 26th we packed pascals car to the gills and drove, as every year, to the Berninapass in Swiss for Snowkiting. The Valley welcomed us with -20°, but sun and wind, so we went direct after unpacking the car to the lake and after a proper kitesession we finally hit the pillow.

The next two days were the Swiss SKA Races on our Plan. On the first day was just one race started, which was canceled because of too less wind. The second day were in low till moderate winds 5 races held, which is quite sportive when you´re not used to the thin mountain air.

But my efforts were rewarded and I finished on the 3rd place in Boardrace.

With a clear sky and sun every day and just one day calmness we had good luck with the weather and had much fun and epic sessions on the lake and in the backcountry on the other Bernina.

Just strong wind beyond 15 knots was absent.

With my super funny roommates and all the other kiters in the hotel we had much fun on new years eve and the other evenings.

The 2nd I had to go in much trafficjams out of the alps and into the alps again.

For skiing holidays in Austria with my Family, with much fun and great weather as well, just with not that much Snow as on the Bernina.

What a crazy season

The last year was a success is several ways and just great!

It started with a new Sponsor, Peter Lynn and later Pentax.

I set my sportive goals, Winning the KLB Tour in Race, Reach the top 10 at the Buggyworldcup and enter the Podium at a Buggyevent, and reached it. It´s always a good feeling when you reach your objectives.

I was more on Tour then ever before in one Year, I think together nearly a half year. I got to know many new people, saw nice new spots and places and visited great events.

Afterwards it´s difficult to say what the best journey was, because I remember all in a good mood.

Some highlights were sure the Kitesurfworldcup in SPO, The Buggyworldcup, Getting to know Peter Lynn, the Godfather of Buggying, personally and the Mondial du Vent.

Now it´s time for new objectives. One Intetntion for the next year is to capture much more video footage.

While the Year ends I will be at the Berninapass in Swiss to do snowkiting, as usual.

I which you a nice festive perioud!

Not much kiting went on the last weeks

After Wanlo, which finished this really busy and crazy season I taught it would be nice to have a little kite break of maybe two weeks. It lastet for 5 days, then I was totally hungry for the next session.

Unfortunately the weather didn´t allow much kiting. Since the KLB in Wanlo i´ve just been kiting three times, and never fully powered. We had nearly calmness or totally gusty 40+ knots winds, and then neither enough snow for snowkiting nor allowing landboarding.

So I spent my time with working, learning and my friends at home.

Last weekend I went with a group of landboarders, Pascal, Emma, Passi, Maik & Flo to the dutch landboard championchip in Ijmuiden, trying to kick the dutchees ass.

The forecast look promising, but it didn´t keep right.

After getting up at 5am, Ijmuiden was grey and in snowrain and cold when we arrived. The wind was light and offshore the hole weekend.

Saturday we did freeriding on the hard beach and hanging out, because the organisator decided it was not enough for competition. The evening we spent in a nice flat mike organiced, eating pizza and drinking beer.

Sunday then the same game, just with some more sun. Then we headed home.

So i´m sad that I couldn´t capture much footage with my pentax toy till now.

Hopefully the weather is kindly with us, and allows landboarding or snowkiting soon.

German Champion KLB Race, Wanlo

I managed it! I´m Gearman Champion in KLB Race. I´d like to thank my sponsors, especially Peter Lynn, for making me possible to reach this goal.
But let´s go two days back first. It´s Friday evening, continuous raining, and I´m driving, despite of the horrible weather forecast, to Wanlo. Nevertheless everybody is in a good mood and we have a nice opening party.
The next day starts with a weather wonder. It stops to rain and some wind comes up, so that freestyle can be started. I´ve picked no easy batch with Lennart van Schuilenberg and was kicked out in my first heat of the singles, after I had no time to make a warm up ride. Luckily it didn´t stayed like that, in the double elimination I won 5 heats, this time even against Lennart, and just had
to abandon the field in the half final against the German champ Yannick. Saturday evening the Freestyle winners were rewarded. In the weekendranking in became 4th, and 3rd German. In the Overall rank I ended on the 5th place behind team mate Romain, and 4th German. Congrats to the Winners Yannick, Emmanuel and Joey!
Afterwards was, as always in Wanlo, the party way celebrated.
Sunday the weather luck was overstrunged, and in fact of low winds and rain no race could be started at all. But I could figure out in the Test rounds, that also the Speed 21 is no risk for me.
The Race Tour Winners were rewarded, after I won all Stops I had a serious lead before Pascal(3rd) and Yannick(2nd) and am now German Champion.

Backcountry race Kitearea

My weekend started at 5 am, pack the car, catch up pascal and head to Münsterappel, and this after repairing my buggy seat till late at night. After our arrival the wind was not strong first, but then it boosted up till sometimes 7bft, as the forecast promised. The startfield was with several master riders pretty competitive. On Saturday we drove four fast short races, which were really fun. Temporary the gusts were so strong that we couldn´t start. At the evening after the races we had a quick Mountainboard session.

Sunday the wind was gone, it was nearly calm. In the afternoon a little bit of wind came up and two light wind races were started. After the last race I flew out of my buggy which drove cheerful without me towards the valley, and came to stop just after hundrets of meters. After this it was calmness again. I became second, Pascal was not to beat, Dominik v.B. became 3rd and Sascha barely missed the podium.

Next weekend it goes on in Wanlo!

SPO, buggyraces, licence seminar

What´s happened since the buggy WC?

Thursday evening I drove for the last time this year to SPO, because of the buggyraces.

Any training on Friday was dropped because it was windless and rainy.

On Saturday the conditions were much better and in strong offshore winds four Master races and three Open races were held. Even though I like these conditions I had really bad luck and had in every race collisions and folded kites. After a cold night with frozen windows in the bus, we drove Sunday the 5th and last Masterrace in light winds, which I could win. Despite from this the Saturday took me the leading and kicked me to place four.

I stayed for some more days in SPO to take the last passable kitesurf temperatures and to meet other Teamriders. The forecast was promising, so we drove, after a nice landboardsession to Büsum. Unfortunately a friend of me had a really bad kitesurf accident. I wish her all the best, a fast recovery and much energy to become fast fit again. In order that something doesn´t happen again, ill advice all to leaf enough space to all danger spots, especially in the lee. Thats means far more then one line lengths. In case you drift to close, release your kite before you risk your health, also this means some effort. My motivation for kitesurfing was not big after this, but I stayed in SPO for some more days.

After one day home of repairing and preparing I drove Friday morning with Pascal to the first KLB Instructor Course taking place on the kitearea in Münsterappel. We had much to peruse, and that others were kiting in best winds didn´t made it easier for us. After a written exam on Sunday we could finally kite a bit ourself. We didn´t received results yet, but i´m confident to passed it. Then you can gain the KLB licence from me in the near future.

Whats happening next?

At the weekend there´s a back country race on the kitearea, we can kite in Wanlo with increased regularity, which is fresh mowed and in 10 days takes the KLB final place there.

Buggy WC De Panne

e Panne welcomed us Monday afternoon with drizzle and calmness, so we entered the team apartments and made ourself comfortable. The next day happened not much beside buggy approval and registration in fact of calmness. Wednesday was the first race day and, why should it come another way, not enough wind. But we had a nice tour driving round 10k´s along the beach nearly to Dunkerque in France. The next morning I looked doubtful out of the window- Wind! This day we could do the maximum of three races in constant middle strong winds. Unfortunately I had a bit bad luck and my harnessline got open in one race.

On Friday it was blowing again, but this time offshore what brings in De Panne through the high rises extreme gusty turbulence winds which means most difficult conditions. The first race went ok for me. In the second race I went before the start back to the gear to downsize my kite. Unfortunately I was much to late and came to the Course when the first in the race had did his first round. I overtook him and finished as 14th. That means I had to round back all other riders. The third race was cancelled when I was on second position. A further highlight was, that I got to know Peter Lynn , because he showed up personally.

Saturday, the last race day was, how should it come different, not enough wind. The framework program with gastronomic rally , live music and a super finish diner was really priceless in my opinion and the organisation was proper as well.

Even the races were much fun for me although the beach was wet, and because the course took place in Belgium and France as Well I crossed the boarder round 50 times.

At the end I became 9th equal on points with the 8th. With less bad luck or more races would have been sure more possible, but my goal, top ten, I still reached. With the German Team, the riders of the other countries and of course with the Lynn team we had piles of fun.

Two videos for all who were there:
